Welcome!

Congratulations! You're pregnant! Whether you are a first time mom or this is subsequent pregnancy, giving birth is always a magical experience. But do you ever ask yourself any of the following:

  • I would love a natural birth, but could I do without pain relief?
  • I had a terrible experience with my previous birth, I really would like this time to be different
  • There is so much information out there, I find it so confusing. I need someone to talk me through it
  • I am really worried about being left alone during my labour, I would like someone to be there all the time with me
  • I would like to write a birth plan, but I just don't know where to start - could someone help me do this? Would they be my 'voice' for me in labour?
  • I had problems breast feeding my last baby, I would really like help to successsfully breast feed this one
  • My partner feels helpless, and thinks he would not be a good support for me during labour

If this sounds like you, maybe you need a Doula.......

A Doula is someone who looks after a woman, and her baby both physically and emotionally during the pregnancy, labour and after, whether she chooses to have her baby in hospital or at home.  Modern hospitals can seem impersonal and quite frightening, so while staff may change shift, a Doula offers continuity of care, a reassuring presence and is there exclusively for the woman, and not the hospital or medical staff.

My clients know they can call or email me whenever they like and I won't judge I will just listen!

I believe in supporting my clients both physically and emotionally, to en-power them to make the best decisions for themselves and their baby.

I hope to provide a reassuring presence throughout the whole process, helping them towards the most positive birth experience possible.

BENEFITS OF HAVING A DOULA
>  50% reduction in Cesarean rate
>  25% shorter labour

>  40% reduction in analgesia use
>  60% reduction in epidural request

           or to rate birth negatively.
