WHAT I OFFER:-
 
  • A calm and stable presence for the labouring woman
  • Facilitates communication between the labouring woman, her  partner and medical staff
  • Explanations of medical procedures
  • Provides physical and emotional support
  • Help with preparing and writing your birth plan
  • Massage and other non-clinical pain relief measures
  • Postioning suggestions during labour and birth
  • Help to support your partner
  • Help with immediate recovery and early breastfeeding (if the mother chooses) 
  • Discusses and debriefs the birth postnatally with the mother
  • Gives letter to the baby about his/her birth for the 'treasure box'
  • Full CRB check 

WHAT I DO NOT OFFER:-
Medical advice or assistance

Impose my  own ideas about how an individual should birth her baby

Make a judgement about a woman's decisions about the birth

Try to take the place of the partner

Impose my own ideas about how an individual should feed her baby

My Fees.
I have recognition through 'Nurturing Birth', and Doula UK, having completed their assesor/mentor programme.  My charges are  £450.00 plus fuel and parking expenses(if applicable), for the whole package offered below. On hiring me I take a £100 non-refundable deposit and then the balance either in instalments over the weeks/months leading up to your birth or full payment at one of your post natal visits. This includes:
  • At least two antenatal visits lasting two hours
  • Help with preparation of a birth plan
  • On call 24 hours a day from two weeks before due date till baby's arrival
  • My presence throughout the labour and birthing process - however long it takes
  • At least two postnatal visits with debrief of the birth
  • Unlimited communication via telephone/text/Email before and after birth
  • Written contracts drawn up between both parties 
  • Letter to your baby for his/her treasure box
As I live near Wolverhampton, West Midlands - I would happily take clients within a 20 mile radius.   I am working successfully with all the hospitals in the area.
